What questions would you ask of someone who wants to do this work?
Are you prepared to work long hours? Are you passionate about community? Are you ready to spend most of your time door-knocking in low income communties talking to complete strangers? Can you be flexible in the work place?

What are the major trends and/or key issues in your field?
Health care, community development, renters' rights, fair and affordable housing, predatory lending, education

What forms of support and/or advice have you found most valuable (mentoring, trainings, professional development, attending conferences, etc.)?
Learning as you go; trial and error. Support and knowledge from senior staff.

What is a common or tough interview question a candidate in your field should be prepared to answer?
What do you think the role of a community organizer should be?

What other advice would you give people who want to do this work?
Prepare to be challenged and work very hard.
