Career Path
What was your first job after college and how did you get it?
Directing an afterschool program for elementary & middle school kids. I got the job through making the right call to the right person at the right time—through a newspaper ad. I know the woman was impressed by my alma mater and took me very seriously because of it.

How did you get your current job?
Applied to the organization after completing graduate school.

What experiences and/or course work in college best prepared you for this job or influenced your decision to do this work?
N/A—my graduate work prepared me for a job in the non-profit sector.

Any regrets? What experiences and/or course work might have better prepared you for this work?
No regrets. I enjoyed my college courses immensely and although they do not relate directly to my current job, I use the periphery skills daily.

Have you attended graduate school or are you considering graduate school? What degree do you have/would you want and why? Are there any limitations to advancement in your field if you do not have a certain graduate degree?
I have an MSW from Tulane University. If I had it to do over again, I might pursue an MBA instead of an MSW. I may go back for an MBA eventually.
