What was your first job after college and how did you get it?
I worked for NYC Human Resources Administration. My thesis professor helped me get the job.
How did you get your current job?
A friend saw a position on the Robert F. Wagner School Career Development website and told me about it, but during the interview the interviewers felt I that I was more suited toward this position.
What experiences and/or course work in college best prepared you for this job or influenced your decision to do this work?
It's hard to make a connection between my college education and this job, other than to say that I did not take a predetermined path. I suprised myself by majoring in Africana Studies and History.
Any regrets? What experiences and/or course work might have better prepared you for this work?
Yes. I wished I had volunteered and been more active in clubs, etc.
Have you attended graduate school or are you considering graduate school? What degree do you have/would you want and why? Are there any limitations to advancement in your field if you do not have a certain graduate degree?
I have an MPA from NYU Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service. Most people working in this field have a master's degree or a long track record in different fields of management, etc.
