Action Opportunity Other - Would make an excellent Community Service project for Scouts, High School, etc. Waltham, MA, US

The Edinburg Center is holding our Fifth Annual Rock Into Recovery Festival and First Annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 27, 2014. The 5K Run/Walk will begin on Waltham Common at 9:00AM - 11:00AM; The Rock Into Recovery Festival will begin at 11:00AM and go until 3:00 PM. We are in need of volunteers to help us in a variety of locations and perform a variety of tasks!

5K Run/Walk:

  • We need volunteers to help out with Registration: Friday, September 26 from 2:00pm - 6:00 pm; Saturday, September 27 from 7:00 am - 9:00 am.
  • We need volunteers to help out manning water stations along the Run/Walk route: Saturday, September 27, from 8:30am - 11:00 am.
  • We need volunteers to be Safety Route Monitors: Saturday, September 27, from 8:30 am - 11:00 am.
  • We need volunteers to assist in the Medical Tent: Saturday, September 27, from 8:30am - 11:00 am.
  • We need volunteers to cheer at the Finish Line, and help out with post-race refreshments: Saturday, September 27 from 9:00am - 11:30 am.

If you can donate your time for any portion of the Run/Walk time, please contact Laura Rivard at or 781-761-5219 to sign up!


At Edinburg Center, 1040 Waltham Street, Lexington:

  • Saturday, September 27..helping to load truck/van from 8:00am - 9:00am
  • Saturday, September 27... helping to unload truck/van from 4:00pm - 5:00pm

At the Waltham Common, 610 Main Street, Waltham:

  • Saturday, September 27 to set up tables and chairs, place table signs, tablecloths, and other tasks involved in setting up the Waltham Common for the festival!
  • Saturday, September 27 to break down tables and chairs, collect table signs, pick up litter, help bag trash, and any other tasks involved in picking up after the festival and making sure that the Waltham Common grounds are clean of litter!
  • Any time of day during the Festival that you can volunteer, we will find you a task!
