Without a healthy local economy, there is no such thing as a healthy community!
RelyLocal exists to help promote the importance of local businesses within a local economy, and to re-educate consumers (aka neighbors) on how their spending choices have a tangible effect on their community.
At its core, RelyLocal is a nationwide campaign to rebuild the U.S. economy, one community at a time. We do this by connecting with like-minded, professional, residents who want to "give back" to their communities by launching campaigns at the local level. We create new jobs who's entire focus is to protect and promote local businesses in a community, getting neighbors to divert some of their existing spending back into local businesses. And we aren't talking about "crazy" changes or spending new money, we are talking about a $20 shift of existing spending per month...
From a national level, RelyLocal provide the tools and training to launch a successful "buy local" campaign. We use all of the latest technology, we have a great team of marketers and support staff. But, the real "magic" happens at the local level - with our partners, their staffs, their members, and volunteers. RelyLocal is truly a grassroots movement!
We have created almost 400 new jobs in our first year alone. Below is a little breakdown of how we structure our organization.

Who We Are Looking For: We are always looking for everything from short-term volunteers to help get a new message out, to new staff at the local level, to new partners to launch a campaign.
National vs. Local?: Yes, RelyLocal is a "national" brand, but this was by design - to help build a cohesive platform and brand that has a better chance of resonating with communities across the country. The beauty of RelyLocal is really that we built the campaign as an "open source" organizational model - continuing to develop the core products and services based on the best practices that emerge at the local level (rather than trying to cram a national agenda into local communities).
Local Commitment: We built RelyLocal to always keep at least 90% of revenue at the local level. In some cases, this is actually as high as 98%. In other words, yes - our mission is to HELP local economies, not pillage them.
