Together, we'll share a day of camaraderie, compassion, fun, helpful information, and hope! Fundraising is encouraged and greatly appreciated.
Why We Walk:
We walk to raise funds to support the mission of HDSA, the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to fighting Huntington's Disease. HDSA provides vital support and services to improve the lives of those affected by HD, offers resources for HD families and supports research to find a cure for HD.
HD is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is no effective treatment or cure. HD is a debilitating disease which slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, talk and reason. Eventually the person must rely upon others for their care. Huntington's Disease profoundly affects the lives of entire families -- emotionally, socially and economically. We walk in support of the hundreds of HD families right here in our own community.
