Borden Springs, AL (closest to Piedmont, AL)
Starts: Saturday, May 4– 3pm EST/2pm CST
Ends: Sunday, May 5 – 3pm EST/2pm CST
What will you do?
About 2 hours west of Atlanta, Georgia, about 25 students, ages 13-25, will come together for a weekend of natural exploration, community service, and civic engagement workshops. Learn from conservation leaders how industries are influenced by corporate and citizen lobbyists, how to engage your elected officials in your community campaigns, and dissect the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Organic Act, and Wilderness Act. We'll also take a leap into stream water ecology as we conduct a river sweep. Also, sing, dance, and have a great story-telling and s'mores-eating time.
How to sign up?
Please reach out to Charles Orgbon at corgbon@greeningforward.org or (855) ECO-TEEN ext. 300 to sign-up to participate by May 1, 2013. It costs $10/person to participate for non-Greening Forward staff, board, and youth council members which must be paid via PayPal.
