At Hunter's Point Community Middle School (www.hunterspointcms.org) we believe that all young people have unique talents and points of view that deserve to be developed fully within a rigorous, creative, and caring school community. In order to be prepared for a college preparatory high school upon graduation from eighth grade and in order to be successful adults in an ever-changing society and workforce, our students are consistently asked to think critically through problem-based learning "challenges." Interest-based advisory blocks, with consistent adults who support the whole child, allow students to explore their passions in and out of the school building. We are seeking teaching applicants with a commitment to a positive psychology approach, disciplinary literacy, data driven student supports, and participation in collaborative inquiry and on-going professional feedback.
