5/7: Volunteers Needed for Bowery Mission

Posted by: New York State Of Mind

Description

Volunteers Needed - Serve Dinner @ the Bowery Mission New York State Of Mind is One With The Community

New York State of Mind continues its time honored tradition of service to the community on by returning to volunteer with one of NYC's oldest charitable establishments: The Bowery Mission

The Bowery Mission offers community-based services to residents in the neighborhood of Lower East Side of Manhattan through its Outreach Program.

The Bowery Mission provides daily compassionate care to the homeless and needy.

Three meals served daily, shower program three times a week, free medical attention onsite, 84,000 articles of clothing distributed and 77,000 nights of emergency shelter provided.

We will be assisting the folks @ Bowery Mission on Tuesday May 7 , in serving their dinner meals to the homeless and hungry:

Once known as a soup kitchen, The Bowery Mission is sometimes referred to as the busiest "restaurant" in New York City, serving more than 900 meals per day to poor and homeless men, women, and children and more recently, the unemployed who are doing everything possible to make ends meet.

Help to prepare, serve and clean-up dinner alongside our staff and resident students at 227 Bowery.

Come out with your fellow NuYawkerz and make a difference in the community.
