Get your creative on and spend an inspiring weekend in the heart of Silicon Valley at our first national youth filmfest. We'll be screening films by the best young filmmakers from throughout the country. "Best in Fest" prize is $5,000.

What makes FTNYF unique is that in addition to honoring the best films in five categories we also offer a "people's choice" award for the film that earns the most votes from our website polling. Each vote costs $1.00. The entrant who achieves the most votes will receive 100-percent of the money total he/she raises. Part of making films is financing them and this is a fun lesson in creating your own resources. Start building your e-mail list of friends NOW! To participate in the "People's Choice" competition you must upload your video to either Vimeo.com or YouTube.com and email the link to pete@freshtakes.net

Dailymotion is presenting a mobile film competition in conjunction with the Fresh Takes National Youth Filmfest. Those 22-years and under are eligible. Films can represent any genre, but must be shot with a mobile device and may not exceed 3-minutes in length. Mobile film entrees are posted at http://www.dailymotion.com/contest/freshtakes. The film capturing the most online votes will win $1,000 to be presented at the Filmfest.

ELIGIBILITY

Submitting film directors must be 22 years of age or younger at the time of the film's completion.

CATEGORIES

  • Feature: Any narrative film over 30 minutes in length.
  • Short: Any narrative film under 30 minutes.
  • Documentary: Any length.
  • Animation: Any form, any length.
  • Experimental: Any length. Anything goes.

SUBMISSION DEADLINES

  • Early Deadline: June 15th, 2013: $20
  • Regular Deadline: July 15th, 2013: $30
  • Late Deadline: September 1st, 2013: $40
  • Final Extended Deadline: September 15, 2013: $50
