League of Women Voters - Meet the Board of Elections

Posted by: League of Women Voters of the City of New York

Description

Ask all the questions you always wanted answered about voting in New York City. Why is the structure of the Board so political? What does the Board do when they are not running elections? What happens to all those paper voter registration forms? Is the Board ready for the 2013 Primary and a possible run-off? Our featured speakers will be Frederic M. Umane, President of the Board and Commissioner Julie Dent.

Accompanying the Commissioners from the Board will be Dawn Sandow, Deputy Executive Director. Pamela Green Perkins, Administrative Manager, Raphael Savino. Deputy General Counsel, Steve Ferguson, MIS Director, John Naudus, Director, Electronic Voting Systems, Beth Fossella, Voter Registration Coordinator, and Stephen Thompson, from Election Day Operations
