Boston Idealist Grad Fair

Description

Click here to learn about this year's new exhibitor registration process and other policies.

The Idealist Grad Fairs take place each year in cities across the United States. These fairs are free to the general public. Prospective students who attend the Idealist fairs are seeking graduate degree programs that will help them make a difference through their careers. They come from a range of backgrounds, including:

  • Nonprofit and government work
  • Alumni of service programs such as Peace Corps, City Year, and AmeriCorps
  • Mid-career professionals seeking to advance their careers or transition to a new one
  • Undergraduate students

By attending a fair, you also have the opportunity to network with your peers and raise the profile of your school by volunteering to speak on a panel about becoming a stronger candidate for graduate school.

To hear more about what admissions professionals are saying about the Idealist Grad Fairs, watch this short video, filmed at last year's New York City fair.

Reminders

For exhibitors

As an admissions representative, you have access to the fair space beginning at 4:00 pm. As soon as you arrive, please check in with an Idealist staff member or volunteer.

We encourage you to use this first hour to set up your table and to grab a bite to eat before we open the doors to the public. Idealist will provide a light, self-service dinner and have water brought to your table before and during the fair.

Each registered program, arranged alphabetically by university and then by school, will have one table (typically 3' x 6') and two chairs. Please bring a school-branded cloth cover/banner to cover your exhibitor table.

If you have a name tag which you bring at other recruitment events, feel free to wear it at the Idealist fair. If not, we have disposable name tags at the registration table.

Do not plan on having access to electricity, a phone line, or the internet access at the fair.

Shipping

Sending materials

Specific shipping dates and address will be posted in July. Here are some general reminders in the mean time.

  • Due to space availability, we will only accept packages for a certain period of time. We have indicated receiving dates for each fair - packages delivered before and after these dates will be refused.
  • We suggest travelling with extra materials as, on the rare occasion, a package or two can get lost in the mail. Idealist is not responsible for lost materials.
  • Please make sure your packages are clearly labeled with your school name and that they are for the Idealist Grad Fair. (Consider attaching a business card!)
  • If you plan on sending materials back to your school after the fair, come prepared with payment information - either a courier account or credit card number. Idealist is not responsible for any shipping fee.
