About us

Florida's Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program seeks to advocate for the rights, health, safety, and welfare of residents living in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and adult family-care homes.

Volunteer ombudsmen are trained and certified by the State of Florida to identify, investigate, and resolve complaints made by, or on behalf of, long-term care facility residents; to complete annual administrative assessments of all long-term care facilities; and to visit with residents on a regular basis to monitor the quality of life and quality of care provided by the facility.
