About Us

MOCJ was established to provide residents of Baltimore City a safer, healthier and stronger community. We operate from a belief that efforts to reduce crime and delinquency, eradicate gang involvement, diminish the drug trade, and address the collateral consequence of system involvement will work only if they are coordinated throughout city government and in collaboration with state and federal officials, faith and community-based partners, and impacted persons.

MOCJ is responsible for:

  • forming partnerships with state and federal agencies, community and faith-based groups, non-profit organizations, and others to address crime and criminal justice issues; and
  • administering programs and funding among law enforcement, criminal justice agencies, community organizations, and service providers who are developing and implementing comprehensive crime prevention strategies.
