About Us

The Mayor’s Commission for Persons with Disabilities works to increase opportunities for people with disabilities in the City of Boston by facilitating full and equal participation in all aspects of life.

This includes reducing architectural, procedural, attitudinal, and communication barriers as well as promoting accessibility in the areas of pedestrian access, housing, education, employment, transportation, civic activities, and the built environment.

The Commission works with City Departments, neighborhood residents, community groups, disability advocates, agencies, non-profit organizations, private businesses and developers to ensure that accessibility and inclusion remain a top priority in the City of Boston.
