Bayfair Employment Training Academy (BETA):

Bayfair Employment Training Academy (BETA) is a job-training academy providing assistance and case management services (for youth ages 16-21) to low income youth ages 14-24 in the basic skills needed for the job market. This program is located in Bayfair mall and serves the youth in the unincorporated Eden Area for the skills needed to obtain a job. At BETA, youth can participate in a 12-week workshop twice a week to learn and develop the skills in search for and landing a job. In a nutshell, youth will develop a resume, cover letter, job search skills, interviewing skills, workplace behaviors, and overall job readiness skills that it takes to secure a job in this economy. Besides this service, we offer drop-in services to use the computers for job searches, one-on-one support services with a case manager, mental health support, resources and referrals, financial literacy, and GED preparation. Our program offers youth the support needed to accomplish their employment and/or academic goals. We want to see our youth become SUCCESSFUL! Who we are looking for: We are looking for foster youth between the ages of 16-21 for case management services to come join our program. The foster youth can either be in foster care or emancipating out of the foster care system. We will help foster youth with job skills and/or obtaining a GED whichever goal the youth wants to set. Come participate in our program, and we will help you along the path of success into the work world.

Eligibility: The youth must be a resident in the Eden Area with these zip codes (94541, 94542, 94552, 94511, 94578, 94579, or 97580). You must be between the ages of 14-24 (16-21 for case management services towards a getting job or GED), complete an application, have a valid Social Security Card, valid proof of age (birth certificate, photo id etc.), and a US citizen or submit a copy of your valid Alien Registration Card for authorization to work.
