Art21 is a non-profit arts organization best known for its Peabody Award-winning PBS series Art in the Twenty-First Century. Based in New York City and reaching globally, Art21's programs focus on visual artists and include: documentary features, two short-format Web series, a yearlong professional development program for educators, a worldwide screening program, and more.
Digital Media

The Digital Media Intern reports to the Director of Digital Media and Strategy. Primary duties for the internship are to provide support for the organization's new and on-going initiatives on Web and Web-based social media platforms. Tasks include:
- Assist with the recent relaunches of Art21's primary websites: art21.org, pbs.org/art21, and blog.art21.org
- Administration of Art21's presence on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and others
- Maintain the presentation of online video across multiple platforms
- General assistance with the digital media initiatives supporting the online film series, New York Close Up, as well as the PBS-broadcast series, Art in the Twenty-First Century
All applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills, general research and office skills, be detail-oriented, and possess an interest in contemporary art and/or film and television. Additional qualifications include:
- Experience and confidence using Web-based technologies
- Extensive experience using social Web platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo, Foursquare, and Tumblr
- Familiarity with basic Web development concepts; experience with Drupal and/or development in an Apache/MySQL/PHP environment a plus
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Experience with Wordpress and general understanding of blogging
- Ability to think creatively and implement new ideas and strategies
- Motivated, responsible, and self-directed individual with strong communication and organizational abilities
