AVANCE-Austin seeks to promote school readiness among Austin's rapidly growing Hispanic population by providing both parents and their young children with the tools they need to succeed educationally. AVANCE'S 9-month Parent Child Education Program offers participants educational toy making instruction, parent education, English as a second language classes, and community resource information. Children in the program receive early childhood instruction from professionals to prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond.
AVANCE-Austin is looking for college or graduate students interested in bilingual early learning to work alongside the early childhood instructors in the classroom. The Early Childhood Aide will familiarize themselves with children's activities and assist with the development of lesson plans. Responsibilities also include assisting Early Childhood Instructors in recruitment, in maintaining accurate, complete and correct records of children such as class attendance, health records and injury reports, and in other projects, as needed. Help give these young children the opportunity to enter school on an even playing field with their peers and go on to succeed!
