Internship description

The Community Education & Outreach Intern at Planned Parenthood will provide assistance to the Teen Council, a peer education program for metro area youth, by helping with pre-session planning, observing weekly sessions, cleaning up post-session and helping to transport participants (mileage will be reimbursed). The intern will also be responsible for administrative tasks including database entry, weekly meeting minutes and various preparations of educational activities, as well as shadowing sexuality education presentations with potential to assist in the presentations. Qualifications include a basic knowledge of sexual and reproductive health issues and/or other teen health concerns, an interest in service learning or political advocacy, ability to relate to teenagers, and must have some weekly flexibility and be available on Mondays 3PM-9PM for meetings. September-May commitment preferred for Teen Council program, or summer semester for Reach One Teach One.
