Internship description

Earth Rights Institute is right now in partnership with Pythian Youth Foundation. All around U.S. children in local communities are growing up under insecure circumstances. These children are in danger of being deprived of experiences and support needed to develop as healthy individuals. PYF's mission is to serve Americas youth, especially the inner-city, at-risk children with the tools, inspiration and confidence necessary to make a positive change in their communities and the world. Right now we are looking for inspired and engaged IT volunteers for our new Volunteer Challenge Program.

PYF's Overview

The Pythian Youth Foundation of California, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Public Nonprofit Corporation, established in 1946 to develop and operate the 19-acre Pythian Youth Camp, which is located in the heart of the majestic Sequoia National Forest. The Pythian Youth Camp was founded under the signature of President Harry S. Truman and Section 101 (6) of the Internal Revenue Code for the purpose of serving America's youth, especially inner-city boys and girls, and to help fight the causes of juvenile delinquency. It is the first and only land-grant camp in the United States. Its focus is to enhance the growth and development of at-risk children between 9 and 11, both at camp and in the communities where they live. Since its founding in 1946, the Camp has served as a time-out for nearly 300 inner-city children each year, helping them to break the cycles of distress that keeps them focused on unhealthy lifestyles and behaviors.
