Job Summary:
1. Contribute to resource development plans for conference & banquet
2. Assist in event planning and implementation as assigned by Conference Team
Key Responsibilities
- Resource Development
- Assist in efforts to expand donor base through soliciting in-kind and financial contributions for annual national conference and 30thanniversary banquet
- Work with Fundraising Team to solicit raffle ticket prizes and auction items as assigned
- Actively participate in other conference- and banquet-related fundraising activities as needed
2. Event Planning
- Work closely with Conference Team in areas of conference content and program, logistics, banquet planning, fundraising, and publicity and marketing
- Complete assigned tasks and report work progress in a timely manner
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, speaking)
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Self-directed, motivated, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to exercise initiative and judgment and make decisions within the scope of assigned responsibilities
- Ability to effectively communicate relevant work progress and findings in a timely manner
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- Demonstrated event planning experience
- Experience in nonprofit marketing desirable
- Media outreach experience and social media skills are a plus
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet use.
