In terms of the qualifications of the prospective intern, we primarily want an enthusiastic person, self motivated and honest individual who is a quick learner. Volunteer work experience is not necessary for this role, although an understanding and interest in Yearoutindia's ongoing projects and ethos is essential.
Overall, we believe that the right intern would find the substance of our work very interesting and fulfilling, and it would be a mutually beneficial experience. It will give an insight into working in an emerging economy and understand the working culture, way of life and intricacies of Indian social and business scene.
"Looking back, I feel satisfied like never before. On one hand I learned so much about project management in remote areas but on the other hand, and more importantly, I helped to improve the quality of life for a very poor and disadvantaged family. I found it remarkable, how volunteer work can provide better job satisfaction than a well-paid job. It all depends on whom you are actually helping and the purpose of your work." Thomas, Volunteer
