Position Objective:
To assist with the overall responsibilities and functions of the Human Resources Department
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide prompt and courteous assistance to members of the public calling PETA
• Greet visitors to PETA's office with sincere enthusiasm and a desire to help
• Assist with applicants in the Bob Barker Building
• Cover the front desk during the public information specialist's absences
• Perform various administrative tasks
• Assist with preparing for and organizing PETA and PETA Foundation staff functions
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
• Some college course work
• Minimum of one year of administrative or reception experience
• Demonstrated thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
• Proven ability to conduct in-depth research related to employment law and the application of government regulations
• Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and multitask
• Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle
• Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
