Leave UR Mark has a microfinance internship opportunity in Bangalore, India for volunteers and interns who would like to experience the country from a unique perspctive of international development. This is a great opportunity for international interns to get an idea of how small women owned businesses need assistance through microfinance, development training, and community support. This is a field based project in which you would get an opportunity to visit small women owned businesses in underprivileged communities and how microloans are effecting their lives.
Interns would work for an organization that gives interest free loans to women from slum and poor communities to setup businesses of their own, become independent, and get out of the debt trap. Interns will get experience with:
1)Case Studies of successful entrepreneurs starting up small businesses
2)Management of funds
3)Researching where help is needed
4)Assisting with training and development programs
5)Working with both urban and rural populations
6)Ensuring proper allocation of microloans and resources to women
7)Shadowing a typical micro credit session
8)Developing training workshops for women
9)Helping to distribute and disseminate videos and documentaries on microfinance and entrepreneurial development
Requirements:
1)Must be 18 years and older
2)Good command of English
3)Some knowledge and interest in international development
Leave UR Mark charges a $575 placement fee to help organize your trip Pre-Departure and internship placement. Leave UR Mark is there to help travelers feel comfortable and safe while in india.
