Internship description

Uganda Youth and Women's Effort Fighting AIDS (UYWEFA) supports people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. UYWEFA provides education support, economic empowerment, home based care and youth activites. UYWEFA's long-term objective is to ensure people affected by HIV/AIDS in our community have access to healthcare and education opportunities in order to be able to provide for their and their family's needs. UYWEFA is serves the community of Kazo, approximately 20 kilometers outside of Kampala, Uganda.

UYWEFA is seeking volunteers to serve as teachers in a daycare and primary school. UYWEFA operates a school that provides discounted or free education to orphans and vulnerable children. The volunteer will be placed as an aid in the nursery classes or as a specific subject teacher to assist the teachers on staff in the primary school.


Nursery Assistant

Experience working in early childhood education. Experience working in daycares or kindergartens.

Primary Teacher

Teaching experience. Experience working in primary one through three. Willingness to work in several classes on a specific subject matter.
