Duration: 3-6 months – 30 hours/week

Description:
The rural area of the province of Santiago in the Dominican Republic is one of the poorest areas of the country. Since 2006 www.gracecares.com a USA based not-for-profit agency has been partnering with communities in the Baitoa area of the province and our local Project Director, Mr. Ruben Ottenwalder. Our Project Director/local hero has now established an NGO (www.projectheartsdr.org) in the Dominican Republic and needs assistance in growing the health programs of his organization. The goal is to help increase awareness of health prevention and self-care.
Scope:
-To build a health education program that will be self-sustaining, training of trainers program
-Develop/adapt health education materials for the rural Dominican Republic
-Provide health education courses for community members
-Establish medical supply maintenance system
-Identify potential funding sources and write a grant proposal for health programs
Requirements:
-BA/MA/MPH/RN and background and experience in Public Health, Nursing/Medical, Social Work, Program Administration
-Working fluency in Spanish.
-Ability to live and work in rural environment
-Well organized, motivated, self starter
-Computer skills in excel, PowerPoint and internet searches, etc
