Internship description

Description: Outreach Interns help schools, faith communities and/or civic clubs learn about global hunger and poverty, Heifer's misison and story, and the organization's educational resources and materials. The support of these groups is vital to our work and we are looking for creative, self-directed individuals to represent Heifer International.

Requirements:

  • Good planning and implementation skills;
  • Ability to direct own work with little supervision;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Comfortable speaking directly with the public and giving informative presentations;
  • Positive, team oriented attitude;
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Access to personal computer, telephone and transportation;
  • Complete Heifer Chicago Volunteer training;
  • Commitment to Heifer's mission and ending hunger and poverty
