Internship description

The American Indian Education and Outreach Assistant volunteer or intern will provide reproductive and sexual health education and outreach to American Indian women and girls in the Duluth area through single- and multi-session presentations at various organizations and schools. The target goal of this work is to increase awareness of and testing for HIV/AIDS in native communities as well as education on STIs, teen pregnancy, sexual violence, etc. Qualified volunteers will be comfortable with sexual health issues, culturally sensitive, basic computer skills and knowledge, and familiarity with the local area (including local reservation communities). One semester (for students) or six month commitment requested, at 2-8 hours/week. Position contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
