About the Fundraising Department:

Fundraising is vital to sustaining NESRI and supporting the growth of both the organization and our programs. NESRI works with partners and allies to build a broad social movement for economic and social rights, and as a small organization we are in need of qualified interns to help us in all facets of our work.

Description of Internship Opportunity:

Internship responsibilities will include: fundraising database support, prospecting research, event planning support, and editing and production of grant and fundraising materials. Responsibilities can be modified to suit the interests and skills of the intern. We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week. This is an unpaid internship. NESRI is located in New York City.

Benefits:

The intern will learn about fundraising strategies in the non-profit sector and the human rights movement.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and interest in human rights
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
  • Experience with research (for prospecting)
  • Experience with basic finance is a plus
  • Familiarity CiviCRM/drupal is a plus
  • Experience with social media fundraising is a plus
  • College student or recent graduate
