INTERNSHIP Description – Winter 2012/2013
The Intern will provide project support and assist in tasks related to the Division of Health Policy's work in health disparities, including the division's drug policy agenda. The New York Academy of Medicine has been working to develop a blueprint for a "Public Health Approach to Drug Policy" - a roadmap for a more coordinated, multi-sectoral approach to policies relating to illicit drug use and prescription drugs that seeks to improve the health outcomes of individuals and communities at the city and state level.

Qualifications:
Seeking committed and responsible undergraduate or graduate student. Significant interest in public health and the health policy issues facing vulnerable populations. Commitment and interest in political and social change. Verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and literature review skills. Familiarity with PubMed and/or other research databases. Credit required.
