Internship description

Global-Change.Org works internet based collaborative project. We are offering an unpaid internship for dedicated undergraduates, graduates, and young professionals. Interns will be expected to dedicate a minimum of five hours to the GCP, though all work can be done via internet and on your own time. Because of the start of nature of the organization, interns must be passionate about the project and willing to work with minimum structure.

- Wiling to work with little guidance and ability to take initiative

- Creativity and willingness to share ideas for the growth of the organization

- Understanding of start up organizations and ability to work in this environment

The Global Change Project is currently accepting interns for the following positions:

1. Administrative Intern

As an admin intern, you will be responsible for helping the administrative team of GCP oversee all staff members. You will be working on holding other team members accountable and overseeing the completion of important tasks. The admin intern will be responsible for aiding with the building of GCP by helping create vital documents, storyboarding a timeline, setting goals, and creating the overall image of GCP's future. This position is only for very dedicated individuals who are willing to spend a lot of time on the project and are passionate about helping GCP fulfill its potential.

2. Project Lead Intern

As a project lead you will be responsible for overseeing one of our five projects. The project lead will be responsible for handling this project's team and overseeing the completion of necessary tasks. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about one of the following projects:

The Help Network -- recruits volunteers who commit one hour per week to assist a disabled, elderly, or sick person. Volunteers come from all walks of life and can help in ways big and small from providing simple companionship to assisting with transportation, physical tasks, or preparation of meals.

Discounts 4 Disabled – disabled individuals, who typically live on a fixed income of less than $950 per month, do not customarily receive discounts for goods and services. From large national chains to small "Mom & Pop" stores, very few establishments offer discounts for disabled individuals. Discounts 4 Disabled seeks to secure commitments from businesses to offer discounts for the disabled similar to those provided for students and senior citizens.

Ecovision 2020 -- an organization dedicated to promoting 100% renewable energy and sustainable industry by the year 2020 through education, public awareness campaigns and policy development. Ecovision 2020 promotes public awareness through media campaigns, sponsors an Environmental X-Prize for environmental innovation, organizes conferences, panels, and symposiums, and sponsors sustainability policy research and publications including best practices education for legislators,.

The Non-Violence Project – an educational program for children in grades K-12 that promotes non-violent problem solving, conflict resolution, and social skills. In younger years, the project emphasizes personal boundaries and respect for the physical space of others. The project seeks to counter-act violent messages children receive through media and society by educating them about the principle of non-violence and affording them the skills and tools they need to make non-violent life choices as they grown into adulthood.

The Organic Food Company -- the organic food company seeks to make whole organic foods available to everyone by establishing non-profit food outlets and cooperatives to provide people with access to food at little or no mark-up. Additionally, the project seeks to create a farm to market community resource network that provides educational programs as well as vocational training and employment opportunities.
