The St. Francis Center, located in Reservoir Hill, is currently seeking volunteers to assist with the summer educational program. This position supports the Power Project Program Manager in developing and implementing day to day youth programming in academic enrichment, mentorship, and the arts. Involves hands on work, direct work with youth ages 4 – 14. The Power Project operates Mondays through Thursdays from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm starting Monday, June 24, 2013.
The Power Project is the first free academically-based program serving underprivileged youth in the 21217 zip code. The program is a unique place where disadvantaged youth have the opportunity to be children again, to have agency, to participate in workshops led by master artists, achieve academic success, become lifelong learners, and empower themselves and their community.
St. Francis Neighborhood Center is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), community based organization, independent of any church affiliation. Since its inception in 1963, the Center has served as a cornerstone of community life in the Reservoir Hill neighborhood. SFNC strives to give people hope for a better tomorrow by providing them with the tools they need for a better today.
