The Position:To reach and engage our community, we're looking for a curious, motivated intern to help us tell inspiring stories of people turning their good intentions into action. Responsibilities include:
- Creating biweekly content for our social innovation blog series: Intentions to Action, Idea File, and Ideal to Real. For examples of the series, read here: http://blog.en.idealist.org/author/celeste-hamilton-dennis/.
- Pitching our content to other media outlets.
- Cultivating a storybank of lesser-covered regions.
- Finding great social innovation articles and resources to share with our community.
- Evaluating reach and impact of blog posts.
Interested?If this is the internship for you, you meet the following requirements:
- You love to write and you're pretty good at it. So good that you have a few writing samples or a blog to share.
- You love scouring the Internet for exciting new ideas and interesting people. Already you have a running list of potential stories for our blog.
- You're excited about helping people take action to create a better world. In fact, you can recommend three resources that social entrepreneurs would enjoy.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience in non-profit digital communications. We're looking for someone to commit for 15 hours a week, for four months in our Portland, OR office. The salary is $12 per hour.
