Start date for internship: We have two internships available from 15 August 2016 and two internships available from 1 October 2016.
United Nations Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials (UNAKRT) is seeking a highly motivated candidate who is pursuing a future career in media, public relations, public affairs or outreach. The successful candidate will undertake a variety of functions within the areas of outreach, public awareness and media analysis.
The intern's responsibilities will include:
Drafting of articles and other information for public dissemination
Production of content for weekly email updates, monthly newsletter, website and social media channels
Day to day media monitoring
Participate in public information program design and revision; website revisions; and organize information briefings to visiting delegations and groups
Other tasks as assigned
In order to be considered for this internship you must satisfy one of the following three requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or
(c) Have graduated with a university degree (bachelor or masters degree) less than one year before the date you commence the internship.
Excellent drafting skills. Public speaking and presentation skills are a definite advantage
Fluency in English required, knowledge of French is an added advantage.
Good organizational skills
The intern will not be paid by the United Nations and, as such, he/she will not be entitled to the privileges and immunities accorded to staff members of the United Nations. The United Nations in general and UNAKRT specifically, accept no responsibility for the medical insurance of the intern or costs arising from accidents and illness incurred during the internship. Applicants must show proof of valid medical insurance coverage and provide a medical certificate of good health.
