Now Hiring: Veterans Program Coordinator at the University of Oregon

University of Oregon Nontraditional Student Programs seeks applicants for the UO Veterans Program Coordinator position. This position is a 11 month AmeriCorps volunteer position. The UO Veterans Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating programming for student veterans at the University of Oregon including, but not limited to Veterans Day and Memorial Day Events, coordinating the Dog Tags to Ducks Peer Mentorship Programming, collaborating with the Veterans and Family Student Association, and overseeing the running of the newly established University of Oregon Student Veterans Center. Preferred Qualifications

  • Veteran, active service member, spouse, or dependent, or strong knowledge of military service.
  • An independent, motivated, self-starter with excellent organization and follow-through.
  • Experience and/or desire to work with veterans, service members, and their families.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with a diverse group of people.
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Experience working with college students or in a college environment.
  • Experience with mentorship programs.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Benefits:

The applicant selected for this position will receive a living allowance of up to $12,100 over 11 months (before taxes, members only receive the stipend while serving), a $5,550 education award upon completion for future tuition or payment on qualified student loans (taxed), loan forbearance on qualified federal student loans, basic healthcare coverage and childcare assistance (if household income qualifies).
