Seeds of Peace, a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to empowering teenagers from regions of conflicts with the leadership skills required to advance reconciliation and coexistence, is looking for full-time or part-time interns to work with the administration department of the organization.
The internship duration spans from January to May. All internship candidates will be considered as part of the general pool and then interviewed and assigned to specific departments as specified by the applicant and as deemed appropriate by the organization.
Location: New York, NY
Requirements: Must be current college/graduate student or recent graduate with experience working in an office environment. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel are essential. Applicants must have excellent writing and oral communication skills, strong research skills and knowledge of the internet. Furthermore, interns are expected to be detail oriented, organized, and be willing to perform a number of different tasks that may vary from day to day. In addition, Seeds of Peace seeks individuals that are able to work independently and take initiative in the workplace. Knowledge of the Middle East preferred, Hebrew or Arabic a plus.
Applicants who intend to receive college credit for this internship must make arrangements with their college/university. Seeds of Peace is not responsible for acquiring academic credits for interns.
Responsibilities: The intern will work directly with staff members of the respective department in the New York office.
Administration – Administration interns perform daily tasks such as answering phones, drafting correspondence, compiling information through research projects, taking care of daily incoming and outgoing mail, keeping calendars updated, etc. Interns also provide administrative support as assigned by staff in various departments. This may include dealing with insurance forms and vendors, compiling materials for staff, donors or board members, keeping the office organized and machines working, etc. This position may also include working on non-profit registration, both domestic and abroad.
