Description:
The Community Boating Center offers week-long youth camps every single week of summer break (10 weeks - see our website). These camps alternate between sailing and kayaking camps, and require a substantial amount of planning and management to be successful. This intern will help with curriculum development, communications with parents, kids, and instructors, outreach and marketing of camps, and assisting with the facilitation of camps.
Preferred Experience:
- Sailing and/or kayaking experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Interest in working with youth.
- Solid work ethic.
- Flexibility.
Internship Benefits:
Aside from work experience, interning at the Community Boating Center provides opportunities to get out on the water, make connections in the community, and learn about non-profit management, sailing, kayaking, and experiential education. Academic credit may be arranged for clearly-defined internships.
Please Note:
Volunteers and interns are crucial to the function of the CBC, and we are happy to work with you to arrange an internship that is beneficial for all. We are flexible on the start and end dates of the internship, but expect 10 hours/week minimum. If you would like to work more hours per week, we gladly welcome that!
