Are you looking to make a difference abroad in 2012? This internship provides a fantastic opportunity for any student or recent graduate to do just that. The intern will gain invaluable hands-on experience in program development and outreach and will work directly with the Executive Director in establishing/maintaining our Education Programs. The intern will be responsible for the following duties:
- Manage attendance records of all programs
- Conduct home visits
- Plan special community events, including LLI's 3rd anniversary celebration
- Manage positive reinforcement programs (Student of the Month, Top Performer)
- Coordinate educational field trips
- Contribute ideas in weekly meetings with other managers and the executive director
- Hold meetings with parents; enhance our registration system
- Develop a Service Learning and Mentorship program with the executive director
- PLUS (but not necessary): Experience in the English education field to assist in coordination of the program
The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, adapt to new/different situations, enjoy working with children, possess ADVANCED Spanish language skills, and a strong desire to make a difference in a poor community! We are looking to fill this position from January and onward! The intern must be available for at least 6 months, free room and board only provided for a year contract.
