GRI is currently looking for volunteer Project Assistants (PA's) at its Camp Phoenix bush camp to assist with many aspects of the camps daily operations, as well as focused project work within the various GRI initiatives.
We need assistance with:
• Teaching support in nearby villages
• Training and capacity building of local staff
• Mechanical support to the project workshop
• Field Research projects within KNP
• Hands-on camp developments
• Fundraising and marketing initiatives
• Community development and outreach initiatives (e.g. playgrounds for villages, medical/veterinary support, school stocking and repairs, arts and crafts schemes)
This volunteer programme offers a unique opportunity to live and work at Camp Phoenix, home of Elephant Orphanage Project (to rescue, rehabilitate and release orphaned elephants back into the wild).
Volunteer Requirements:
• GRI is looking for motivated and conscientious individuals with a genuine interest in conservation, who would be willing to assist with various aspects of this unique organisation
• No specific qualifications are required to become a PA, although first aid knowledge would be very useful
• PA's must be self-supporting
• PA's need to be practical in nature and content to live in a remote bush camp environment
• Cost for one month placement on the programme is a minimum donation of £1,500
(This covers all in-country costs as well as directly supporting conservation efforts in Zambia.)

1. 3rd April - 24th April 2013
2. 4th May - 25th May 2013
3. 5th June - 26th June 2013
4. 5th July - 27th July 2013
5. 7th August - 28th August 2013
6. 11th September - 2nd October 2013
7. 11th October - 1st November 2013
8. 9th November - 1st December 2013
