Internship description

WISE & Healthy Aging is seeking a spring intern to support the human resources team and work directly with the Human Resources Director. The intern will participate in the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions, including employee relations, benefits, onboarding, compliance, and compensation.

The ideal candidate is highly responsible, organized, and has the ability to maintain a strict code of confidentiality. Candidates must be able to type a minimum of 35 wpm. Internet research skills a plus but not required. A demonstrated aptitude for working well with people, and the desire to contribute to the field of human resources and/or an interest in the non-profit and social services sector.

WISE & Healthy Aging enhances the independence, dignity and quality of life of older adults through leadership, advocacy and innovative services.

WISE & Healthy Aging, a nonprofit social services organization, is the result of a merger in November 2007 of WISE Senior Serivices and Center for Healthy Aging (formerly Senior Health & Peer Counseling). Each organization served the community for more than three decades, earning national reputations for innovative and effective programs and services.

Headquartered in Santa Monica, California, WISE & Healthy Aging continues the long tradition of service and outreach, with focus on the Los Angeles Westside as well as the surrounding communities with the greater City and County of Los Angeles.

Desired Qualifications:

Majoring in a related field (human resources, organizational development, business administration, etc.)

Previous work experience in an office-setting

Positive attitude, reliable, and a mature presonality
