ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Vineyard Habitat Network intern will assist with the Vineyard Habitat Network ("VHN") and a range of related tasks in stewardship, office duties, and work with other interns. Duties under the VHN will include but not be limited to private land ecological assessments, photo-documentation, site map preparation, data entry, landscaping and nursery work, and other tasks as directed by the VHN Manager.
The second half of the internship will be substantially devoted to a significant project, carried out with assistance as needed from other TNC staff or partner organizations, which advances VHN objectives while also meeting the intern's personal goals for learning or career development. The intern will be expected to write up a summary of his/her internship for submittal to the foundation that is funding this position.
Start and end dates for this position are flexible but the position will not exceed six months in duration. The VHN Intern must be able to perform moderately strenuous work, such as landscaping, pond construction, transplanting, etc., and must be able to represent the VHN and The Nature Conservancy in a mature, professional manner.

This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with the Conservancy's Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers." Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.

SALARY INFORMATION
This is a full time, temporary position (June 28-November 29, 2013). Dates may be flexible. $12.00/hour
