The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) works in more than 190 countries and territories to save and improve children's lives, providing health care and immunizations, clean water and sanitation, nutrition, education, emergency relief, and more. USF invites qualified candidates to apply for the internship described below.

Description:

USF seeks an intern for its Social Media team interested in learning the various aspects and activities of the USF's Social Media presence.

The internship will provide an opportunity to

  • Learn best practices and strategies on the use of social media platforms
  • Utilize social analytics
  • Develop strategies for major fundraising/awareness campaigns

The work schedule is flexible, but the successful candidate should expect to commit at least 14 hours per week for the internship.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in monitoring and building some of our smaller networks, including Tumblr and Pinterest
  • Review community Facebook and Twitter feeds for relevant conversations
  • Collaborate with the team to craft/schedule posts for our @UNICEFUSANews Twitter account
  • Assist the team in the social presence on the Action Center message boards.
  • Perform other assignments as needed

Requirements:

  • Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Previous exposure to Social Media platforms a plus
  • Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is preferred
  • Must demonstrate USF Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork, and Service

Time Frame: Summer 2013

Days per week: 2 – 3 days a week (Flexible)

This is an unpaid internship.
