Special Events Internship Spring 2013

Posted on: May 1, 2013

Posted by: All Stars Project of Chicago

Description

The All Stars Project of Chicago is the newest affiliate of the All Stars Project, Inc. For 30 years, All Stars has created ground-breaking performance programs that enrich the lives of thousands of inner city young people each year in New York City, Newark, New Jersey and Oakland, California.

The Chicago affiliate currently runs two programs that focus on youth from Chicago's South and West Sides. The All Stars Talent Show Network provides young people with an opportunity to produce and perform in talent shows in their neighborhoods. The Development School for Youth is a leadership training program designed to introduce young people to the "performance" of the business world.

All Stars Project of Chicago is currently accepting applications for Special Events Interns for our late Spring/Summer event cycle. The intern will support the Special Events committee as they implement programming and fundraising efforts, specifically focusing on event production, research, and building business-to-business relationships. The intern will need to commit to at least 10 hours/week, with the possibility of an increase in hours as our April and May events approach.

Applicants should be outgoing, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be very organized. Students interested in not-for-profit work are highly encouraged to apply. Please send a cover letter and a resume to Sarah and Stephanie at chicagovolunteer@allstars.org.
