Internship description

Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for timely and accurate daily processing of payables and general accounting functions.

Essential Functions:
Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
Maintaining confidentiality of Goodwill financial affairs.
Distribute invoices to appropriate management for approval.
Process invoices accurately, including PO & invoice matching, reviewing for applicable sales and use tax, proper coding, proof of delivery, and authorization.
Process check runs.
Accurate posting of vendor information, including proper 1099 status, to the vendor database.
Maintain 1099 paper files and generate year-end 1099's.
Reconcile vendor statements.
Research and resolve problems and answer questions from staff or vendors.
Maintain electronic and paper vendor files.
Provide backup support for accounting operations.
Perform any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Associate's Degree with emphasis in accounting or 1-3 years accounting/bookkeeping experience.
Experience: Minimum 2 years accounts payable experience. Ability to interact with staff throughout a number of departments.
Ability to perform multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses:
Familiarity with computer equipment and accounting software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Essential Physical Abilities:
Lifting and carrying 20 pounds; reach above head level; full range of body motion with the ability to stoop, bend and squat; grasp, handle, finger and manipulate items; perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms, including but not limited to keyboards and calculators. Able to move through a wide variety of physical environments without assistance; including ramps, stairs, small spaces and uneven terrain. Able to sit for long periods of time. Able to communicate with others effectively, verbally and in writing; including those who have limited English skills. Able to use standard office equipment without assistance, and a standard keyboard for long periods of time. Maintain reliable attendance.
