Internship description

MapLight, an innovative, award-winning nonprofit dedicated to revealing money's influence on politics, is seeking a Voter Information Intern to assist with our coverage of 2013 California elections for our Voter's Edge website. This position pays $10 per hour and is for 10 hours per week, from February to May, and is located in Berkeley, California (near BART).

Voter's Edge is a comprehensive, nonpartisan guide to ballot measures, bringing together all of the information voters need to make informed decisions on election day.

Responsibilities include:

  • Gathering key information about ballot measures, including summary information, endorsements, news, editorials, and campaign advertisements.
  • Collecting and restructuring campaign finance data for use on website.
  • Keeping website content up-to-date.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail oriented, 100% accurate.
  • Enjoys working with data.
  • Personal dedication to MapLight mission and work.
  • Experience with campaign finance data a major plus.
