Internship description

The Santi School Project repairs schools and trains teachers in Nepal. Our New York office is responsible for fund raising and donor communications, and pretty much whatever else needs to get done.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit volunteers to teach in our schools in Nepal
  • Research grant opportunities and help prepare grant submissions
  • Develop social media content and strategies
  • Help organize an exhibit of art work by our students in Nepal
  • Research children's book publishers

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidates will have strong writing skills, the ability to work independently, and a sincere interest in social justice and education. Knowledge of Nepal is helpful but not required.
  • Flexibility in taking on various assignments and responsibilities, and a willingness to learn, are both a plus.
  • Motivated college students or recent graduates with an interest in fundraising and grant writing are encouraged to apply.

Special Considerations

The Santi School Project is a small, grassroots organization. That's another way of saying we don't have a proper office. (This means you'll never get stuck answering the phone or making copies). Interns will communicate with the organization's founder on a regular basis by email and meet in person in Manhattan whenever necessary.

We will do our best to accommodate students who seek to gain academic credit for this unpaid internship.
