PAVE: Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment is a national 501c3 nonprofit that works to shatter the silence and prevent sexual violence. PAVE works to educate communities about sexual and domestic violence, empower victims, and eradicate injustice. PAVE's work has been featured on CNN, Today Show, Dr. Drew Show and TIME. PAVE has 50 chapters and affiliates. PAVE's efforts boldly aspire to one day transform our nation into one free from sexual assault and domestic violence -- and to ensure that until we collectively realize this transformative vision, that no victim ever feels alone or disempowered.
PAVE works to engage men and women to be a part of the solultion with a strong focus on bystander intervention.
NOTE: Possible PAID stipend for internship
- Organize PAVE programs on Chicago college campuses and represent PAVE at events;
- Develop an effective group of student leaders, faculty and admin committed to ending sexual assault on campus in the Chicago area;
- Train a potent group of student leaders to advocate for victim's rights on campus and in their communities;
- Working closely with PAVE's Founder, help to expand PAVE's membership and supporter base by actively developing ways to engage youth, both on and off campuses, on an on-going basis;
- Work with Online Strategy, Communications, Media and the Web Team to develop and execute publicity strategies and bolster engagement with young people through social networking sites, blogs, and other avenues;
- Update website and write program newsletter;
- Assist in developing and executing strategy for Shatter the Silence Mobile App
- Assist with general administrative support for PAVE, organize meetings with project partners or collaborators and coordinate both on- and off-site meetings and events;
- Maintain youth and campus outreach program databases;
- Other duties as assigned and required.

- The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree, one to three years of relevant work experience, outstanding public speaking and presentation skills and an entrepreneurial approach to work.
- In addition, the candidate must have a working knowledge of sexual assault on college campuses and some experience in organizing or youth leadership.
- She/he must be highly responsible, be able to work both independently and with a team, and have the ability to travel around the Chicago area.
- He/she must possess excellent communication skills and be at ease communicating with a wide variety of advocates and allies.
- Necessary technical skills include: command of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel; familiarity with HTML and Adobe Photoshop is a plus. Online social networking tools a must.
