Internship description

NARAL Pro-Choice America is looking for a committed and responsible pro-choice individual for the Press Internship. The Press Intern will work with the Communications and Online Advocacy Strategies team to support NARAL Pro-Choice America's media outreach. This internship is a paid position.

Position description:

This internship is an excellent opportunity to learn about communications, media strategy, and press relations.

The intern will be responsible for:

  • Preparing daily news clips, including blog clips on choice-related issues.
  • Assisting with preparation of press releases, presentations, and message materials.
  • Answering and facilitating press calls.
  • Assisting with social and print media-related tracking.
  • Other communication duties as needed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and efficient with strong computer and people skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is a must. General office experience is helpful. The intern should have a strong interest in media and press relations, political advocacy, and reproductive-rights work. We prefer candidates who can work full-time, or at least 20 hours a week.
