Internship description

Please Touch Museum®, the Children's Museum of Philadelphia, is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in marketing, public relations, communications or related field who is eager to gain hands-on marketing experience. A flexible schedule is available; however, candidates must be available 15-20 hours/week. This Internship is unpaid, but college credit may be granted. Intern must exhibit strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills and have an interest in non-profit and/or the museum field. Intern will also be responsible for providing quality customer service. Position reports to the Marketing & Web Coordinator and Group Sales Associate and works closely with the entire External Relations Department. Some weekend and/or evening work may be necessary. Position will begin June 2013 through August 2013.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of integrated ticket sales programs – corporate and hospitality
  • Manage various databases (Education, Constant Contact, Sesame Preferred Partners Program, Special Delivery)
  • Brochure distribution/request fulfillment
  • Assist with research, implementation and development of programs for media relations, marketing and external relations
  • Manage PTM's on-site admissions screens with marketing messages
  • Assist in event planning and day of support
  • Manage online ticketing store requests and marketing materials
  • Provide administrative support
  • Others duties as assigned
