Job summary: To assist in the overall operation a Job Bank & Resource Center for employment services/job readiness training and community resources, by working directly with registrants with the overall goal of job readiness and job placement.
Summary of essential job functions:
- Client registration and assessment
- Assist registrants with updating resumes, cover letters, references and creating email accounts
- Direct the job search activities of registrants' according to interests and skills
- Inform registrants of upcoming employment related workshops and job fairs
- Help clients perform job-search related tasks on the computer (complete online applications, upload documents, etc.)
- Registrant referrals and follow-up
- Create flyers to advertise workshops, information sessions, etc.
- Search for and post relevant job postings.
- Assist with compiling monthly usage statistics.
Minimum requirements
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of Economic Development/Employment & Training
- Familiarity with Hudson County area organizations & businesses
Abilities required
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel)
- Work one on one and with small groups of registrants
- Proficiency in Spanish a plus
